Domagoj Marić

Domagoj earned his ICT degree at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing in Zagreb. His field of study was Information processing, and he specialized in the field of Information security and cryptography.

In the end of his studies he gained a lot of interest for the fields of Natural Language Processing and Web Scraping/Crawling, in which he further refined his knowledge. He is currently leading the data science team in Megatrend Poslovna Rješenja.

PhisHRban: A safer Internet through AI and natural language processing

PhisHRban is a project in which we aim to build an AI model which would fight the problem of phishing attacks, which are nowadays far from well known “Nigerian prince” scams. There are two main problems, one being the detection of phishing web sites, i.e. URL addresses which lead to fake or malicious web sites, while the other is the classification of e-mail traffic, which is also based on the former problem to some extent. Through this presentation we will introduce the project, show the main idea of our solution and what we accomplished so far, and give a quick breakdown on how to recognise a phishing attack.
