Elio Bartoš

Elio is a data scientist at Velebit AI working on various computer vision and NLP projects. He has over 7 years of experience working with data, from data analysis, data engineering to machine learning. Besides technical skills, he lead and mentored data teams, and collaborated closely with business stakeholders in order to understand their problems and goals.

He is passionate about applying mathematical and technical knowledge to solve real-world problems, always measuring the end result and impact on the business. He has a master’s degree in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Zagreb.

Generative AI: Extending fonts with new characters

Creating fonts is laborious, so usually only standard English characters are created. Characters specific to other languages are often missing, making the font hard to re-sell for other languages. In this presentation, we will talk about how we used AI to generate missing characters. We will show our approach, the problems we stumbled upon on the way, and how we solved them.
