Jan Snajder is an Assistant Professor at the University of Zagreb and a member of Text Analysis and Knowledge Engineering Lab (TakeLab). TakeLab specializes in natural language processing (NLP), machine learning, text analytics (aka text mining), and data mining. TakeLab’s mission is to help people make sense of often large amounts of unstructured data expressed in natural language. Many of TakeLab’s research efforts involve cooperation with partners from the industry and academia, including cross-disciplinary collaborations with humanities and social sciences. Jan’s research focus is on lexical semantics, information extraction, and social media mining. He has been a visiting researcher at Heidelberg University, Stuttgart University, NICT in Kyoto, and University in Melbourne.
