Smart logistics for manufacturing industry – H2020 L4MS project

This talk will discuss a pilot experiment for logistics automation that is being developed within the scope of the H2020 project L4MS. Logistics in production for SME is one of the most commonly known problems, where up to half of the production costs goes to logistics. The producer of LDPE film of rolls MURAPLAST d.o.o. (MP) is one of such companies.

They have improved production processes, yet, their main current challenge is on improving their internal logistics, which at the beginning of this project included heavy lifting of objects. The solution to this problem is the automatization in the highest form – using AGVs to the state-of-the-art software. ICENT as a Competence Centre has performed the pilot Application Experiment (pAE) for the production area of MP. The pAE was performed at a scale model of a small production area set up at ICENT premises. Experimental tests of the actual motion/interactions of the AGV and as well as interactions with the developed Open Platform In Logistics (OPIL) were tested and presented to MP
