Milan Petković

Prof. Dr. Milan Petković is the head of AI & Data Science R&D for Hospital Patient Monitoring at Philips and a part-time full professor at the Eindhoven University of Technology holding the chair on Trustworthy Artificial Intelligence. He represented Philips in several standardization organizations, was vice president and board of directors member of several associations and public private partnerships including Big Data Value Association (BDVA), AI Data and Robotics (ADRA) partnership with the European Commission and led several Dutch national and EU projects.

He authored more than 25 patents and 100 journal/conference papers as well as several books including one on Data Science in Healthcare.

Creating Value with AI in Healthcare

Our healthcare systems are facing serious challenges starting with ageing population, pandemics, increasing number of chronically ill people in parallel to health work-force/place shortages. Data and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies can lead the way to the transformation of the healthcare sector necessary to deal with these difficult challenges. This is not merely a future vision, but a reality, which we are shaping today. In this talk, I will show several proof points of beneficial applications of AI in Healthcare and discuss opportunities for boosting AI innovations in Healthcare to improve patient outcomes, manage healthcare costs and improve patient and healthcare provider experience.
