Igor Haralović, the founder and CEO of Pontus Pharma, was born in Sisak, a city that was a “melting pot” of people from various fields in the 1980s. It boasted a rich cultural scene and industry, located close enough to Zagreb to absorb its influence, yet distant enough to cultivate its own identity. After completing his education at Sisak Gymnasium, he graduated from the Faculty of Economics in Zagreb and pursued an MBA at RSM Erasmus in Rotterdam.
His initial steps into entrepreneurship were taken during his college years. Back then, alongside a colleague, he managed four stands at the marketplace, thus learning the basics of business operations. Following his graduation, he ventured into the world of the pharmaceutical industry. For over twenty years, he held leadership positions in the pharmaceutical sector, initially at Pliva, and then for twelve years as the director of Sandoz for Croatia and Southeast Europe.
Subsequently, he founded Pontus Pharma, an agile and young Croatian pharmaceutical company operating in the SEE (Southeast Europe) region. Its primary mission is to bridge the healthcare standard gap between Southeast Europe and more developed Western markets.
