Ivan Filković

Ivan Filković has studied Computer Science at the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing where he received his Bachelor’s degree (BSc; 2011) and Master of Science degree (MSc; 2013). The subject of Bachelor’s thesis was  “Object tracking based on adaptive search-window shift” and the subject of Master’s thesis was “Evaluation of procedures for traffic signs recognition”, i.e. both focusing on machine learning, computer vision and AI.

After graduation, he worked on many AI-focused projects and in and for various companies, from Fintech to nuclear power plants. E.g. he was employed as a research assistant on project VISTA where he was working on a system for the detection and recognition of traffic signs and its application in advanced driver assistance systems – ADAS. Also he worked on project DEMSI where he developed computer vision de-identification methods for soft and non-biometric human identifiers. One of the interesting areas of AI application and projects he did was while he worked in in Institute for Nuclear Technology (INETEC) on secondary verification system for positioning the manipulator robot based on Computer Vision methods. His endeavors and explored industries also include Fintech industry where he was developing AI models for prediction of financial markets.
