Ivan Jurin is an AI Engineer who has been working at Photomath for 6 years. He graduated from FER with on a computer vision topic, and today he is most focused on AI / ML as well as supporting infrastructure.
He is working at Photomath almost from the very beginning so he has a hands-on experience with the vast majority of Photomath systems as well as responsibilities in more areas. For the first 6 months he worked as an Android Developer, after of which he participated in the founding of the Machine Learning Research Team. Over time, he turned more and more to mentoring, prototyping new functionalities, efficient execution of models on mobile devices and infrastructure required for ML model learning (local GPU clusters, etc.).

Improving Photomath’s math problem scanning with deep learning
Talk will explain how we used complex deep learning model to significantly improve math problem understanding. Model combines state-of-the-art approaches in computer vision and natural language processing. All of this required a completely new inference engine to support the scale of the global no.1 math learning app.
