Matej Gjurković began his 15-year career as a mobile software engineer in the telecommunications industry, working on innovative VoIP solutions for the world’s leading telecom companies before transitioning to academia. There, he pursued a Ph.D. that combined his interests in machine learning and personality psychology. He co-founded Semadot, a spin-off from FER aimed at commercializing technology developed at TakeLab. While at FER, he worked on semantic search engines for legal documentation, which led him to co-found Ulpian AI. He is using his experience in developing interdisciplinary projects to create an AI-based service that provides guidance on EU and national legislation.
